Quietly unassuming, Bill Kong is the powerful force behind Edko Films and Broadway Circuit, the largest cinema chain in Hong Kong. Best known as the producer of Ang Lee’s martial arts epic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which won four Academy Awards and two Golden Globes and became the most popular foreign-language film ever in the USA, Kong himself is an Academy Award nominee and a BAFTA and Independent Spirit Awards winner. The hit-maker is also the producer of Lust, Caution, and Ramen Hui’s hit Monster Hunt, and a slate of acclaimed feature films, including director Zhang Zhimou’s Hero with superstar Jet Li, which broke box office records first in China and then worldwide.
