Amanda Berry, OBE

Chief Executive, BAFTA

One of the most influential people in the British film industry, Amanda Berry joined the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in 1998 as director of development and events, and has been its chief executive for over 15 years. In an industry synonymous with Hollywood, Berry made the shrewd decision to move the BAFTA ceremony ahead of the Academy Awards in the calendar, ensuring the BAFTAs were no longer overlooked following the media hype created by the Oscars. Further to this, she has overseen BAFTA’s positioning as the leading charitable body educating, promoting and rewarding excellence in film and television.
