Throwing the Bouquet

Traditionally, the bride tosses her bouquet into the crowd; the single woman who catches it is believed to have received some of the bride's good fortune and will be the next to marry.

- If the bride wants to hold on to her bouquet as a keepsake, the catcher may be willing to give it back, or she could remove a few stems to dry.

- Some brides throw a bridesmaid's bouquet instead of the bridal bouquet; others have a cheaper one made up just to throw.

- She should turn her back to the crowd and then gently throw it backwards over her head.
