Professor Alice Gast

President, Imperial College

Texas-born Alice Gast was appointed first female president of leading scientific university Imperial College in 2014. As president, she oversees all the university’s functions and leads its strategy, including plans for a new 25-acre White City Campus. Gast is a world-renowned scholar in chemical engineering, and was previously president of Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. Imperial recently placed second in global university rankings.
