As the threat from Islamic State increases, the work carried out by Sara Khan and her organisation, Inspire, becomes ever more relevant. After many years campaigning for women’s rights in Muslim communities, Khan co-founded Inspire in 2009 with the aim of empowering Muslim women, raising awareness of their inequalities and countering the growing threat of extremism. In the current political climate, Khan has been a vocal advocate of the government’s strategy to curb radicalisation.
