Polly Hill

Controller, BBC Drama Commissioning

Last year Polly Hill took on one of the most important jobs in UK television when she became controller of BBC drama commissioning. Prior to this, she had been head of independent drama since 2011. Before her time at the BBC, Hill worked for Channel 4 where she oversaw the first series of comedy drama Teachersand she began her career working for producer Verity Lambert. Hill joined the BBC as an executive producer in 2005 before becoming a commissioning editor in 2008. She has since been responsible for BAFTA-nominated drama series including The MissingRipper StreetWolf Hall and Poldark.
