Steven Lam
Steven Lam was in the lunch delivery business, waiting for a van to arrive, when he had an epiphany. He saw the need for an app that would free drivers from call centre fees, speed up the arrival of the deliveries and make good business for him and his partners. Thus GoGo Van was born, the first and most popular logistical booking mobile app in Hong Kong. Despite a few early setbacks (including a competitor posing as an investor in order to steal their idea), GoGo Van took off. In less than one year, with the largest fleet of cargo-vans and trucks in Hong Kong, the start-up handles more than 20,000 orders a day. CEO Lam and his co-founders, friends since their school days, are now expanding their online-to-offline logistics idea to Singapore, and have plans to do so in other major Asian cities.
