Ian Callum

Design Director, Jaguar 

Dumfries-born Ian Callum is responsible for the design of all new Jaguars, and has been credited with shifting the company's design from retro to modern during his decade and a half in charge. Most recently, he and his team designed the first ever Jaguar SUV, the F-Pace, and he wants to focus next on developing ever more 'exquisite' interiors. Callum's love of cars became apparent early on: from a young age, he would write to car dealers, asking for brochures of their latest models. At 14, he submitted his own car designs to Jaguar in the hope of securing a job with the company. The response from the vice-chairman was encouraging and told him how to pursue his passion. Callum studied at the Glasgow School of Art and the Royal College of Art and worked for Ford, TWR and Aston Martin before joining the company he idolised.
