Christopher Kane

Designer

After graduating with an MA from Central St Martins, Scottish fashion designer Christopher Kane established his own label with his sister, Tammy, who had herself studied fashion and textiles at university. Kane’s MA graduate collection won the Harrods Design Award in 2006, as well as a window display at the Knightsbridge store. In the same year he won Young Designer of the Year at the Scottish Fashion Awards, going on to create a capsule collection for Topshop. The siblings enlisted the help of second sister Sandra to run HR as the business grew, with luxury goods company Kering acquiring a majority stake in 2013. Kane is also creative director at Versace diffusion line Versus, and Donatella Versace claims he reminds her of her late brother Gianni. In 2015, he opened his first own-brand store in Mayfair.
