Daisy Ridley's acting career went global when she was cast as the lead in the seventh installment of the Star Wars franchise, which has since become the fourth highest grossing film of all time. Graduating from the Tring Park School of Performing Arts in 2010, Ridley made several television appearances including roles in Casualty, Silent Witness and Mr Selfridge, and appeared in short film Blue Season and the music video for Lights On by UK grime artist Wiley. In April 2014 it was announced that Ridley would play Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and an early screening of the film prompted one critic to call her the 'real star of the show' and to comment that Ridley’s performance should 'send her career into orbit'.
