Simon Ip Sik-on

As chairman of the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Board of Stewards, Simon Ip Sik-on has seen its Charities Trust donate an average of HK$1 billion per year for the last ten years to charitable causes, including sporting recipients. He is currently president of the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation, which enabled the brilliant staging of the equestrian events at the 2008 Olympics. Dr Ip was the former president of the Law Society of Hong Kong and the former chairman and senior partner of Messrs Johnson, Stokes and Master. Committed to promoting educational causes, he was a founding council member of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the founding council chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Education. He holds positions at the University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and is also an independent non-executive director of Hang Lung Group.
