Sarah Wood

CO-FOUNDER AND CO-CEO, UNRULY

Brands big and small hope to benefit at some point from the organic publicity created by the phenomenon of ‘going viral’. This is where Sarah Wood and Unruly, her 10-year-old business venture, come into play. Unruly is an ad tech company that aims to get videos watched, tracked and shared online. Starting out as a team of three looking to make a success of their entirely self-funded project, Unruly now has 15 offices worldwide and was acquired by News Corp for £114 million in September. Wood’s previous jobs have included egg-packer, pancake maker and station assistant for the London Underground. She has been voted UK Female Entrepreneur of the Year by the Growing Business Awards, one of 15 Women to Watch in Tech by Inc., one of 10 London-based entrepreneurs to watch by Forbes and Digital Woman of the Year by RED Magazine, all in recognition of her success with Unruly.
