Stanley Wong Ping-pui

Ad-man, graphic designer, artist and photographer Stanley Wong, also known as anothermountainman, garnered numerous awards in graphic design and TV advertising before crossing over into the art world to international acclaim. He gained attention with his ‘redwhiteblue’ series when he represented Hong Kong at the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005. His ‘Lanwei’ (‘broken tail’) series of photographs shows construction projects left aborted as a result of the economic downturn, and was acquired by M+ museum in 2013. After graduating in 1980 from Hong Kong Technical Teachers’ College he worked for five years as a graphic designer, and then spent the next 15 years in advertising in various agencies, including as CEO and executive creative director of TBWA Hong Kong in 1999. In 2000, Stanley joined Centro Digital as chief creative officer and film director, and in July 2002 he set up Threetwoone Film Production Limited with a partner.
