High Steward of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge
There are no specific duties attached to the offices of high steward, deputy high steward or commissary, all of which are, in effect, honorary appointments, but the high steward may in certain circumstances deputise for the chancellor.
If the subject of the letter concerns his or her university, the style 'Dear High Steward' may be used.
