Serge Dumont

Arriving in Beijing in 1985, French entrepreneur Serge Dumont founded Interasia, China’s first independent corporate communications consultancy, which he sold in 1993 to Edelman, the world’s largest PR group, becoming its executive vice-president at the same time. He is now vice-chairman of Omnicom Group and chairman of Omnicom Asia Pacific, dividing his time between Hong Kong and Beijing. As a pioneer in strategic communications he has advised leading multinationals, organisations and governments. A highly regarded philanthropist in education and public health, Dumont was named special representative for UNAIDS, the joint United Nations programme on HIV/AIDS. He has received many honours and awards for his contributions to business, philanthropy, culture and education, including the prestigious French Légion d’Honneur.
