Publications

The mammal data included in the 2008 IUCN Red List has already been used in several analyses that have been recently published or are currently in press. Most recently the central coordinating team for the mammals have published an article in the journal Science which highlights many of the key findings of the data. Some of our collaborators have also made use of the data in their own publications.

All of the mammal data on the 2008 IUCN Red List are freely available on the website, including the GIS maps, and we encourage people to use this data as much as possible to assist in the conservation of threatened species. If you have any problems downloading any data please send an email to redlist@iucn.org.

We have tried to include as many of these publications as possible below, but if your publication using the mammal data is missing from this list, please email us (redlist@iucn.org) and let us know so we can include it too. If you have a link or .PDF of the publication that we are able to include here that would also be great.
