The Common Scarlet-darter (Crocothemis erythraea) is common and widespread in Africa, western Asia and southern Europe that lives in open stagnant water, including rice paddies and brackish lagoons. Categorized as Least Concen in the Mediterranean.

The Iberian Lynx (Lynx pardinus) is the world´s most threatened felid species. It is endemic to Spain and Portugal, and currently Critically Endangered as a result of fragmentation of its natural habitat by agricultural and industrial development.

The Morris Squill (Scilla morrisii) is a Critically Endangered plant endemic to the Island of Cyprus, which grows in moist, shaded crevices and banks. Its popuation is severely fragmented  and declining due to its sensibility to human pressure.
