The rain has returned folks. While sort of gloomy weather will continue this weekend, some of the heaviest/steadiest rains have exited the region. More in the way of light scattered showers will be seen for much of the rest of the weekend. Storminess to our west will consolidate with low pressure systems taking shape along the Carolina coast and tracking up the Eastern Seaboard. This complex of storm systems will impact the area through Monday with shower chances and below normal temperatures. Additional rainfall totals through Monday PM of 0.10"-0.33" can be expected. With UVA holding Final Exercises this weekend, be prepared for wet conditions. By Monday, the storm should be far enough away to our northeast that we see a little more sunshine and warmer temps; however, the storm may still be close enough to provide a few showers. The rest of next week, big changes look to unfold as a ridge in the jet stream builds back into the East. More sunshine and much warmer temps will make a return to the area. With the air mass getting much warmer and a little humid, a cold front slowly tracking into the region by the end of next week could spark a few PM storms.

Friday: Sun and clouds, hot/humid, few PM storms, highs 86-90. Saturday: Sun and clouds, hot/humid, few PM storms, highs 86-90.
