Forecast from Meteorologist Clayton Stiver:
We have a beautiful remainder of our Wednesday folks as a big area of high pressure at the surface builds in from the Midwest. This is making for fair skies overall with seasonable temperatures and low humidity. A very weak upper level disturbance tracking through late today may spark a spotty shower but most if not all should stay dry. A front that had tracked through late Tuesday has stalled out across the Carolinas. This front will slowly lift back to the north on Thursday. This along with increasing humidity could spark an isolated shower or t-storm for the PM hours. There may be a slightly better chance for more organized showers/storms Friday with a cold front tracking in from our north and west. This front looks to move just to our south and stall across the Carolinas for the weekend. At the moment, computer models are now suggesting the weekend will be mostly dry as the front stays far enough south and high pressure moving in from the north and west is the dominant feature. Latest computer model guidance unfortunately also suggests that a low pressure system will now track across the Commonwealth for 4th of July Monday into Tuesday. This could make for fairly cloudy skies with widely scattered showers/storms. Outdoor plans and fireworks displays may be greatly impacted but this forecast is still subject to change. Stay tuned!
