Biennial Peace Art Award for Secondary Students

Administration

1. The Award is the responsibility of Psychologists for Peace Interest Group.
2. The Psychologists for Peace Interest Group (Western Australia) will have primary responsibility for raising the funds for the Award.
3. The Coordinator of the Psychologists for Peace Interest Group (Western Australia) will appoint a selection committee of at least one member and one artist.
4. The Psychologists for Peace Interest Group Biennial Peace Art Award for Secondary Students Selection Committee (Judges) will be responsible for recommending to the Board the recipient to receive the first prize.
5. The Psychologists for Peace Interest Group (Western Australia) Art Award Selection Committee (Judges) will be responsible for recommending recipients to receive a ‘Highly Commended’ certificate.
6. The Psychologists for Peace Interest Group (Western Australia) Peace Art Award Selection Committee (Judges) will be responsible for issuing all participants with a ‘Participation’ certificate.
7. The nominated artwork will be displayed at an appropriate venue for period of time determined by the Psychologists for Peace Interest Group (Western Australia).
8. The award will be presented at an appropriate event and will be announced in InPsych.

Eligibility

1. Nominees need not be members of the Society.
2. Nominees must be students currently enrolled in a Western Australian secondary school and must submit an item of artwork for consideration.

Nomination process

1. A call for nominations for the Biennial Peace Art Award will be made every two years by publication of notices in InPsych and invitations to secondary schools.
2. Nominations should be addressed to the Psychologists for Peace Interest Group (Western Australia) and received by the date set in the call for nominations notice.
3. Nominations will only be accepted from the artist and/or their school. 
4. Nominations are made by submitting the artwork with the nominee’s full contact details and the full contact details of the nominee’s school to the address specified in the call for nominations.
5. The amounts to be awarded will be notified in the call for nominations.

Value of the award

Successful candidates for the Biennial Peace Art Award will receive:

1. 1st prize - successful candidates for the Biennial Peace Art Award will receive an award of not less than $500
2. Highly Commended Certificates 
3. Participation Certificates to all participants
