The extensive APS advocacy activities are supported through representation on influential advisory groups and committees, formal submissions to inquiries and reviews, and government funding for a variety of projects. During the 2014/15 financial year strategic advocacy was facilitated through formal APS representation on a large number of advisory groups and committees.
A number of funded projects support APS advocacy efforts for high standards of training and the contribution of psychology to community wellbeing. In 2014/2015 the APS has received funding from the Australian Government and other entities to undertake a number of projects. The funding enabled the employment of staff to undertake the projects under the supervision of National Office staff and with the guidance of appointed project reference groups.
