Forecast from Meteorologist Eric Pritchett:
Some brief relief from the heat and humidity for Wednesday. A cold front is slowly pushing to our south tonight. This helped to trigger some scattered storms, that could linger through early tonight. High pressure will build toward and over the region for the remainder of the week. A push of drier air, will make for a nice Wednesday, with less humid conditions and temperatures in the 80s. This brief break in the humidity will carry through early Thursday. As this high moves offshore and a big ridge develops in the jet stream, heat and humidity will quickly return Friday into the weekend. Widespread 90s are expected during this stretch with heat index values at or well above 100. More storm chances to arrive Sunday into next week.
Tonight: Early storms, mostly clear, patchy fog, lows 63-68. Wednesday: Mostly sunny, cooler and more comfortable, highs 83-88. Thursday: Mostly sunny, warm but not too humid, highs 85-90. Friday: Mostly sunny, hot, more humid, highs 88-94. Saturday: Mostly sunny, humid, hotter, isolated storm possible, highs 93-98.
