The forecast from Meteorologist David Rogers:
As we continue into the start of the week ahead, a stationary front will remain in place along with a dip in the jet stream. The air mass remains humid as another wave of low pressure tracks through. The low pressure system exits to our northeast as we work into Monday, but its trailing front will be draped across the area. In addition, a stronger cold front will move down from the northwest and sweep through. This will bring scattered showers and t-storms. The severe threat will be low but a few storms could still bring wind gusts to 30mph, heavy rain, and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. Finally a much drier and more pleasant air mass builds in for the middle of the week ahead. High pressure will settle in from the Northwest. This will bring mostly sunny skies, seasonable temperatures, and more comfortable humidity values. As that high pressure system makes its way off the coast by the end of the week, once again the heat and humidity will try to return. A cold front will move in from our northwest as we go into next weekend bringing a return to PM scattered storm chances.
