St Pancras, London

The British Library at St Pancras is a stunning marble and brick building that sits alongside St Pancras International station. As well as being the base for around 1,000 of our staff, it's home to eleven Reading Rooms spanning all research disciplines, and the Sir John Ritblat Gallery which contains a number of the Library's most precious treasures. These include such diverse items as the Magna Carta, the Lindisfarne Gospels, Captain Scott's Antarctic expedition diary and a birthday card with the original lyrics to A Hard Day's Night by the Beatles. The PACCAR Gallery is also at St Pancras, which hosts two major exhibitions a year.

Boston Spa

Our extensive site in Boston Spa, near Wetherby in the West Yorkshire countryside, is based between York and Leeds. It's the base for around 600 British Library staff, which makes us one of the largest local employers, and includes a pioneering automated storage facility and a Reading Room where any of the seven million items in the Document Supply collections can be consulted.
