The forecast from Meteorologist Clayton Stiver:
The extreme heat we've been seeing the last several days folks is finally starting to back down. We will continue to see a slow cooling trend in the days ahead with high temperatures getting back into the seasonable mid to upper 80s. Unfortunately the humidity will stay quite high through the start of next week. To go along with that, we will see daily scattered shower and t-storm chances as a front has stalled across the region and the jet stream is setting up in more of a dip across the region. This is allowing disturbances to track along the boundaries so you take that and combine it with the high humidity, it's a perfect combo to produce scattered showers and storms. A little more potent disturbance tracking through Thursday may provide a slightly better chance for some severe weather Thursday PM. Damaging wind gusts and large hail would be the main threats. Daily storm chances through the start of next week are also bringing beneficial rain to many, but we'll need to keep a watchful eye to the sky each day for the possibility of a strong to severe storm or two. Computer models as of late are suggesting dry high pressure will try to settle in next Tuesday and Wednesday and this could finally bring a noticeable drop to the humidity.
Overnight: A shower or storm mainly before 2am otherwise variable clouds with some patchy dense fog late, lows 70-75. Thursday: Variable clouds, warm and humid, scattered PM storms, some could be severe, highs 86-91. Friday: Variable clouds, scattered t-showers, cooler but humid, highs 84-88. Saturday: Sun and clouds, humid, scattered t-showers, highs 85-89. Sunday: Sun and clouds, humid, scattered t-showers, highs 84-88. Monday: Partly sunny, humid, scattered t-showers, highs 85-89. Tuesday: Sun and clouds, isolated PM storm, less humid, highs 83-87. Wednesday: Sun and clouds, isolated PM storm, less humid, highs 83-87.
