Do your baby's naps seem to be getting shorter and less frequent? At this age many babies begin to sleep less and play more during the day. The "norm" for babies of this age take three or four naps of about an hour a piece. However, some babies will take several short naps, while others will take two long naps. The number and length of naps taken is not what is really important at this stage of your baby's life. What is more important is the total amount of sleep your baby is getting in a 24 hour period. Your baby should be getting approximately 14 hours of sleep at this point of life in a 24 hour period, but even that can vary.
