Now that your baby has experienced many different foods, he might decide that he doesn't want them, even if he loved them in the beginning. Some babies will develop a preference for one particular food, whether it is bread, bananas, applesauce or any number of other things and only want to eat that. Let them.

However, when you can, try letting your baby feed themselves, and they may accept food more readily if they can show a little more independence. Also, don't let your baby have liquid 24/7 because juice, formula, breast milk, and later, cow's milk can keep your baby feeling full. Your baby should have less than a cup of juice a day before his first birthday, and no more than a cup of juice a day after his first birthday. Generally, 24 ounces of formula or breast milk a day is plenty for your infant.

Week 35 Milestones

Games for your baby are popping up everywhere! You might discover that if you sit down and roll a ball at your baby that he will be able to roll it back to you. This is interaction that your baby will love, and playing ball is something that your baby can do with anyone.

What to expect at this months doctor visit

As always the visit will start with the normal weighing and measuring of your baby, as well as updating the growth curve. Since it has probably been three months since your last visit, you will most likely notice a big change in the curve which will be exciting. It shows that your baby is growing.

Your pediatrician will do a developmental assessment of your baby, making sure that there are no obvious delays. Remember though reaching milestones happen at different times for different babies, and your doctor will tell you if something is wrong. If you have any concerns, be sure to ask.

Your baby will get another round of immunizations and possibly a finger or toe prick test which will test him for an iron deficiency. Be sure to discuss any questions you have regarding feeding and possibly weaning from the breast or bottle.

What Might Concern You at 35 Weeks

If you are still nursing your baby, there may come a time when he just doesn't seem interested in your breast anymore. The same thing can happen to babies who are bottle fed. This "nursing strike" is common in babies about this age, but is generally a phase and passes with time. A baby is so interested in the world around them, and what they can get into, that they don't want to take time out to eat anymore.

A couple things you can do include moving into another room, one that is quiet and free of toys that will grab your child's attention. Turn off the TV and any other noises that might make your already curious nine month old, more curious. Try feeding him when he is acting sleepy. When a baby gets tired he might be more accepting to having to stop playing, so that he can eat.
