Virginia Tech Football Begins Practice Thursday - NBC29 WVIR Charlottesville, VA News, Sports and Weather

The Virginia Tech football team kicks off summer practice Thursday in Blacksburg.  On Tuesday the Hokies players and coaches talked to the media.

New head coach Justin Fuente reiterated that he's in no rush to name a starting quarterback.  He'll choose between junior college transfer Jerod Evans and senior Brendan Motley.

Fuente says, "This year we have two guys who have collegiate experience that are competing for the job and at some times have played well and I'm looking forward to how that plays out."

On the defensive side, coach Bud Foster talked up linebacker brothers Terrell and Tremaine Edmunds.

Foster says, "I thought the guy that had our best spring was Terrell Edmunds.  I'm really excited about the things that he can do.   His ability to cover, his ability to make plays in space.  I think Tremaine Edmunds is a guy that has unlimited potential for us.  He reminds me of a bigger version of Xavier Adibi we had a couple years ago.
