DOG LICENSES
If your dog is more than four months old, it must be vaccinated against rabies and be licensed with the City. This is required by Virginia Law and the Code of the City of Staunton.
This is required to be done every year by JANUARY 31st. You may do this by mail. You must enclose a valid rabies certificate and a check covering the cost of a dog tag. The Treasurer’s Office will mail the tag to you. You may also come to the Treasurer’s Office to purchase a dog tag. You must bring rabies certificate to receive a license. You may purchase licenses up to and including the year the rabies certificate expires. The cost of the license are as follows:
