The forecast from Meteorologist David Rogers:
Our heat wave to hang on through the mid-week. Strong high pressure over Bermuda continues to keep us hot and humid. A slow moving cold front will move closer to us Wednesday, before pushing over the region Thursday. Daily storm chances will remain in the forecast the rest of the week, but increase more with the front Thursday. Over the next few days, thunderstorms will be capable of locally heavy rain that could trigger some flash flooding. In addition a few storm could briefly pulse to severe levels with some damaging wind gusts and some hail. The ridge of high pressure off the coast will slowly break down. The cold front will stall out across the region or just to our south for the late week. High temperatures will cool back down into the 80s with overnight lows falling back into the 60s, but it will still remain humid.
Tuesday: Partly sunny, isolated PM storms, hot and humid, highs 90-96. Wednesday: Sun/clouds, scattered PM storms, highs 87-92. Thursday: Variable clouds, scattered showers/storms, cooler, highs 84-88. Friday: Sun/clouds, few PM showers/storms, highs 85-89. Saturday: Sun/clouds, couple PM t-showers, highs 83-87. Sunday: Sun/clouds, PM showers/storms, highs 83-87.
