Forecast by Norm Sprouse:
A cold front will cross the region today bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms. High pressure will build into the area behind the front with much cooler and less humid conditions for Friday. Tropical storm Hermine will move up the mid Atlantic coast this weekend. See the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center regarding possible effects. A gradual warming trend is expected early next week as a more tropical airmass approaches the region. This weekend may end up wetter than expected with Tropical Storm Hermine tracking across the Carolinas and into Southeast Virginia. The track of this tropical system has shifted farther West based on the latest model guidance. This could bring us the potential for some heavy rain and gusty winds, especially Saturday. There still remains high uncertainty with regard to the track and it potential impact on the Mid-Atlantic and our area for Saturday and Sunday. Stay tuned to the forecast for updates!
