Costa Atlantica

Costa Atlantica, newbuilding 498, was launched on November, 1999 at Helsinki shipyard. Her sisterships are Carnival Pride and Spirit delivered in 2001, Carnival Legend in 2002, Costa Mediterranea in 2003 and Carnival Miracle in 2004.

The abt. 84,000 gross tonne cruise ship was handed over to Costa Crociere S.p.A.in June 2000. The ship carries a total of 2,680 passengers (lower beds: 2,114 passengers) in a total of 1,057 staterooms.

Compared to earlier cruise liners of this size, the relative number of outside passenger staterooms and staterooms with balcony is very high; 80% of all the staterooms are outside staterooms and 70% of all the staterooms have a balcony. This is achieved, compared to earlier Panamax ships, by adding one passenger cabin deck in the more narrow superstructure. The crew capacity is 902 in 509 crew staterooms.
