Forecast by Meteorologist Clayton Stiver:
Our recent wet pattern is finally breaking down and temperatures are getting set to warm! An upper level low pressure system across the Ohio Valley had been bringing us clouds and showers as the system just wouldn't move much. This storm system is finally lifting farther north and west of us across the Great Lakes. At the same time a frontal boundary east of us is moving out to sea. This is allowing drier air to build in. Sunday should feature clearing sky once we get into the afternoon with temperatures warming through the 70s for the afternoon. Some dry, pleasant weather should take us into the new week. In the tropics, we are closely watching Hurricane Matthew, in the Caribbean Sea. This hurricane at one time was a Category 5 but now is still a strong Category 4. It is expected to move north Sunday, tracking between Jamaica and Haiti Monday, and crossing the eastern tip of Cuba early Tuesday. The extended forecast track of Matthew is uncertain, but right now it appears the hurricane will track just off the East Coast for the middle and latter half of next week. For us, we would mostly just see a northeast to east onshore fetch of wind bringing clouds, some showers, and cooler temps. The main effects from the hurricane would stay away to our east. This is all subject to change however based on the actual track that Matthew takes. Stay tuned!
