Khanduala Waterfall

The undulating topography of the state is endowed with a number of Orissa waterfalls. Crisscrossed by several rivers, the Rivers in Orissa are mostly fed by the monsoon rains. It is from these rivers that the Orissa waterfalls originates. Gushing down the gorges and river valleys the Orissa waterfalls run down to meet the Bay of Bengal. There are a number of beautiful waterfalls in Odisha.  Khanduala Waterfall is one of them.

The Jungles of Karlapat Wildlife Sanctuary, situated around 32 km from Bhawanipatna, provide the setting for another of Orissa’s charming waterfall called Khanduala. As the shrine of the Goddess Khandua situated on the top of the hill,  so the waterfall name as per the deity Khanduala Waterfall. The fall was formerly utilised in some indigenous manner of operating a crushing mill. This is also regarded as a sanctified religious site in the tourism of Kalahandi.

How to go

418 km from Bhubaneswar, Bhawanipatna is well- connected by regular bus services to important parts of Orissa, such as Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur and Puri. The nearest railway station is Kesinga which is 35 km. away.
