The first major distribution network arrived in the UK as Auto Unions in 1959, initially started in 1932 Auto Union were a combination of 4 different companys. Renamed in the mid 60’s as Audi and taken over by Volkswagen later that decade, they retained their own identity and concentrated on medium sized quality cars. The company later popularised 4WD in family cars and continue to maintain their reputation of innovation and quality.
