The Classic and Classic Capri was a short lived mid sized car heavily influenced by American styling which dated quickly. This has worked in it favour today and particularly in the coupe (Classic Capri) has gained a loyal following. Both cars were replaced by the Cortina only after 3 years of production. The Corsair was a larger car, placed above the Cortina in the model range with some level of engineering and styling connection to the German assembled Taunus models. Replaced in 1970 by the MK3 Cortina.
