General Motors small and steady flow of Chevrolet imports had started in the UK in the 30’s, with noticeable market strategy in 1955. As in the case of many American classic vehicles seen on the roads, the remaining number of Chevys seen today were either privately imported or US Army air base personnel cars. Like other American imported cars, imports of new cars started to decrease into the 80’s, but the Corvette and Camaro have always maintained a reasonable public presence. The Chevrolet brand was reintroduced into the UK in very recent years, but owe nothing to America as their heritage are traced back to South Korea’s Daewoo designs.
