Part of the global Chrysler corporation, Plymouths were marketed as entry level models. Several dozen models were thought to have been imported prior to the 1960’s, again most being imported by US Army personnel. Official imports via Chrysler Australia of the Valiant and Barracuda were started in the mid 60’s with a trickle of sales. Subsequent cars have been privately imported. The brand was shelved in 2001.
