Morris merged with Austin in 1952 to become BMC and although the brands retained some level of individuality, Morris unique identity was lost and 30 years of badge engineering ensured. However the cars continued to sell well and the riches of the corporation was shared. Morris was loosely marketed to more conventional customers, with the Marina essentially appealing to the company driver. The last Morris passenger car left the production line in 1984.
