Following the success of Suzuki motorcycles in Europe, some evaluation cars arrived in the UK in 1974 but imports actually started in 1979 with the unusual rear engined but charismatic SC coupe. The range soon settled down to host a range of small town cars and small 4WD off roaders. The early 90’s Vitara soon became Suzuki’s best seller, having tapped into a niche market in the UK for a period. Production of European Suzuki’s transfered to Europe and the company continued to concentrate on the same sized vehicles.
