Bedford were the commercial vehicle arm of Vauxhall, producing light vans, trucks and buses with a significant level of success in global exports markets. Most of the vehicles were British designed, with increasing input from GM from the 70’s onwards. All production of commercial vehicles stopped in 1986, with the closure of the factory. Subsequent Bedford vehicles were rebadged Isuzu or Suzuki vans and the brand was retired in 1991, with just the light vans retaining the Vauxhall or Opel badges.
