Lotus was born out of a Austin trials car in 1952 and developed the concept into the well respect Lotus Seven. The first coupe was launched in 1957, and a progressive rise in car manufacturing as well as motor sports developed. Cars retained their fibreglass bodies throughout their history despite the halting production of kit cars in the late 60’s. Several take overs by major car manufacturers over the years have kept the brand afloat.
