Who we Are!
Since 1937, the GFOA of NJ has been a
professional association of government finance officers working together
to enhance and promote professional management of government for public
benefit.
The GFOA of NJ’s membership includes those working
in state, county, and municipal government, school districts, the public
employee retirement systems, libraries, federal agencies, investment
banks, and accounting, law, and consulting institutions.

Membership Services
GFOA of New Jersey's members regularly
take advantage of the following association programs, services, and
activities to strengthen their professional skills and keep up-to-date
on developments in their field:
- Newsletter. GFOA of New Jersey publishes a quartely newsletter with
pertinent articles on cash management; accounting, auditing, and
financial reporting; and pension and benefit issues.
- Training. More than 30 CEUs are offered at seminars throughout the year, including teleconferences, live one day,
- League of Municipalities Conference and our Annual Fall Conference.
- Scholarships. The association sponsors scholarships to recognize
outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in public finance.
- Annual Conference. Over 600 attendees gather each year for this two-and-one-half day professional meeting.
- Association Counsel and Executive Director. Association Counsel and
Executive Director assists the Executive Board and Members with
pertinent information relating to day to day operations of the
Association.
- Technical Inquiry Services. Members may contact the GFOA of New
Jersey office with technical questions about financial management
topics.
GFOA of New Jersey Executive Board
The success of GFOA of New Jersey is
accomplished primarily through the hard work of dedicated members and
associate members. The Board Member's List and Email addresses) is
equally committed to completing tasks that enhance and promote
professionalism within the governmental community. Members can volunteer
their time and talents to the association through the many dedicated
committees that make GFOA of NJ what it is today.
Membership
Membership in GFOA of New Jersey is open
to all public officials regularly engaged in the area of governmental
finance. Each regular member present at the Annual Meeting shall be
entitled to one vote. GFOA of New Jersey members form a diverse group of
individuals--from entry-level employees to senior managers--who work
for a broad range of governments, including cities, towns, and other
municipalities of all sizes; county governments; school districts and
special districts; public employee retirement systems; states and
provinces; schools of administration and public affairs; libraries;
federal agencies; and accounting firms, law firms, investment banks, and
consulting institutions.
