Hope you all had a nice 4th of July!
It’s been a great week for me with audiobooks. I had the chance to listen to the upcoming Joshilyn Jackson title, The Almost Sisters (releases July 11; Kirkus gave it a star review).
I simply love Jackson, one of my favorite authors. A beautiful, witty writer, she tells unique, lively, engaging stories that also explore some core human, American and Southern questions. Not strict romance, though usually with a ...
June is Audiobook Month!
Audiobooks have skyrocketed over the past few years, and I’ve said many times I’m a fan.
I love audiobooks because I can listen to them as I go about my day—in the car, making my bed, putting away dishes, taking walks. What I don’t love about audiobooks is that if they are really good, once I’ve finished the tasks I have to get done, I want to keep listening! I might have played an unwise hour ...
Everyone seen Wonder Woman yet? Yes? Good!
(No? Don’t tell me, just go see it.)
There have been so many great reviews written about this movie that I don’t need to pile anything on. (There’ve also been some awful reviews written about the movie, rebutted by some movie reviewers in articles worth reading, for anyone interested in such things. I highly recommend this one, from Jennifer Wright at Medium.)
But somehow this movie was kind of everything for this summer ...
Since this week encompasses #PrideMonth, #LovingDay, and #RememberOrlando, I wanted to share some great M/M romances and inter-racial romance titles I really enjoyed.
I recently mentioned Santino Hassell & Megan Erickson’s RITA nominated Fast Connection (Cyberlove series), and I’ve requested a stand-alone title from Hassell’s Interborough series in audio. In all the years I’ve written about romance, I’ve rarely seen such buzz around an author as I have around him. If you’ve never read a M/M romance and ...
Over the past month I’ve had the opportunity to listen to a bunch of books that came my way, and a couple of them were just terrific, so I thought I’d share.
Adriana Anders’ Under Her Skin (February ’17) launched an intense contemporary romance series Blank Canvas which has a very interesting spin on the tattoo theme. (It got a great Kirkus review, too.)
This gentle giant's scarred hands may be the warmest touch she'll ever know.

Hi friends!
This week I’m wishing desperately to be at BEA, but since I can’t manage that, I’m immersing myself in some great reads. You too?
Over the past month, I was lucky enough to get my hands (and ears) on a few new releases from some favorite authors.
If you’ve had the chance to read any of these, I’d love to know what you think! (Or share what else you’re reading and would recommend.)
Julia Quinn’s two most recent ...
Is spring a little wiggy for you this year? In Wisconsin, it really can’t figure out what it wants to do. A week or so ago it was a sunny eighty degrees and now it’s cool and rainy, hovering around fifty. Thankfully there are so many bright books releasing these days that we can find sun in their pages, if not in our backyards.
I’ve been in a contemporary mood recently and have had the opportunity to read/listen to ...
Are you a Spring Cleaner? Is this the time you go through closets and boxes, wash windows and pack away clothes?
The weather in Wisconsin has been a little erratic the past couple of months, so I’m hesitant to put away any warm clothes just yet. However my awesome husband has had some time off this month and has decided that it’s time to clean out the basement, garage, and a collection of boxes that moved with us over ten ...
