After nearly 10 months of wrangling, Australia's cricket dispute that threatened to cancel this summer's Ashes series, is finally over. A peace deal has been reached between the game's governing body, Cricket Australia, and the players' association. The two parties have agreed on a modified revenue-sharing model and the new deal will also give women cricketers the biggest pay rise in the game's history. More

The Commonwealth Bank has been accused of 'serious and systemic' breaches of anti-money laundering and terrorism financing laws that could leave it exposed to massive civil penalties. The Australian Transactions Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) today launched civil proceedings in the Federal Court alleging that the Commonwealth Bank failed to comply with the law on 53,700 occasions.

In a long-awaited report, the State's Independent Commission Against Corruption has recommended Obeid and two other former State Ministers - Joe Tripodi and Tony Kelly - face criminal trial for 'serious corrupt conduct'. Federal Minister Arthur Sinodinus was the Chairman of AWH and in the ICAC hearings answered he 'could not recall' to 50 questions. But today's report cleared him and the former New South Wales Liberal Premier Barry O'Farrell of any wrongdoing.

Liberal backbencher Craig Kelly is welcoming Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's decision to call a special meeting of the Liberal party room on Monday to discuss divisions over same-sex marriage. The move follows complaints from fellow backbencher Warren Entsch that he was 'ambushed' during a coalition party room meeting in 2015 that decided on a policy to put the question of same-sex marriage to a plebiscite.

Australians who paid a premium for Nurofen's range of targeted pain relief products are now eligible for compensation. The ibuprofen manufacturer has agreed to a multi-million dollar settlement in a class action lawsuit. It's the second case against the pharmaceutical company in less than a year - costing them close to ten million dollars for misleading consumers about four products, which were in fact, exactly the same.

The former deputy director of the US National Security Agency says governments should help to facilitate a conversation about privacy and security, given the amount of personal data being collected by private companies. Chris Inglis says the aggregation of personal data by the private sector is happening somewhat 'unchecked'.

The Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has arrived in Western Australia's Kimberley this evening where the state coroner has been investigating the suicides of 13 young Aboriginal people. The youngest a 10 year old girl who killed herself at the Looma Aboriginal community.
