San Diego Pride now accepting 2017 community grant applications

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — San Diego LGBT Pride has announced that applications for community grants are now being accepted by the organization.

The grants are funded by proceeds from the annual LGBT Pride weekend. Over the years, San Diego Pride’s community contributions have exceeded $2 million, which have been distributed to dozens of organizations through Pride Community Grants, sponsorships and event support.

“I am extremely proud that, thanks to the continued support of our community, San Diego LGBT Pride can once again provide support to others through its Pride Community Grant program,” said Pride Executive Director Eric Heinritz. “This annual contribution helps grow and strengthen other organizations and the result truly makes a difference in our local community and beyond.”

San Diego Pride has granted funds to organizations including the Live and Let Live Alano Club, Bi-Forum, Different Strokes Swim Team, Diversionary Theater, GLSEN – Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network, GSDBA, Human Dignity Foundation, Imperial Court de San Diego, Lambda Archives, Mama’s Kitchen, PFLAG, The San Diego LGBT Community Center, The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus, Stepping Stone, Trans Day of Empowerment, The Trevor Project, Transgender Law Center, The San Diego Women’s Chorus, and many more.
