New Years Eve in Phuket

Looking for ideas on how to spend New Years Eve in Phuket. Preferably, would love to start out with a nice dinner, followed by beach laterns/fireworks at midnight, followed by Patong crazyness. Is there a great Thai restaurant that would be recommended for NYE pre-midnight, in and around Patong? Any other suggestions? We are staying at the Le Meridien..close to Patong
