Saab is a Swedish premium “quirky” car brand that spent a decade under parent General Motors’ direction. The first Saab 92 was produced in 1949 and in 1968, Saab, part of Saab-Scania, launched the Saab 900, its best-selling model until the mid-1980s when the Saab 9000 debuted. In 2010, GM sold its Saab subsidiary to Spyker Cars, N.V. Then the Chinese consortium National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) took over operations. Early this year, the last Saab 9-3 Aero sedan was sold.
