No Lincoln model undergoes a radical change for 2016, but all see some change, with the Lincoln MKS cranking out its second generation, featuring some mildly retro styling.

In an effort to catch up to global competitors, not to mention the United States' own resurgent Cadillac brand, Lincoln updated much of its lineup for the 2013 model year. For 2014, designs are relatively status quo.

HistoryFounded in 1917, Lincoln is an American automobile manufacturer that is a brand of Ford Motor Company. Lincoln was started by Henry Leland, one of the original founders of Cadillac. The company's initial plans were to build aircraft engines, but it hit financial troubles and was bought by Ford in 1922 for $8 million.In the early days, Lincoln built a bare chassis with a powertrain and suspension. It was then sent to a coachbuilder, like Fleetwood, to be completed according to customer specifications. In 1924, Lincoln touring sedans, which were known as "Police Flyers," began to become popular with police departments around the country. It wasn't for another two decades that some of Lincoln's most identifiable product names, such as Continental and Town Car, first debuted in the 1950s as the company's flagship models (both have only recently been discontinued).
