Introduction
This website concentrates on Datsun cars imported into the UK between 1968 and 1982 and covers all the official passenger car imports into the country. The site will be expanded to include later models over the next few months. There are also sections dedicated to specific models, with a brief write up, engine specs, values and known survivors.

The range have a numerial badging system, which reflects the engine sizes - for example the 100A would have the 1 litre engine, through to the 240Z with the 2.4 litre engines. The cars were known by their Datsun names, often sported by the domestic version models, but it wasn't until the late 70's did Nissan export all of their cars with those names displayed on the car.
The first official imported Japanese for sale to the public, started with a tentative run of imports by Daihatsu in 1964. While the car was not a success, resulting in Daihatsu pulling out of the UK market some 5 years later, it opened up opportunities for other Japanese manufacturers, starting with Toyota in 1966, Honda in 1967, Datsun in 1968 and Mazda in 1969. During this time, Datsun were the 2nd biggest car producer (after Toyota) in Japan.
